Case Study – Princess Caroline – Website Redesign

The new Princess Caroline website redesign was launched this week.

As a business looking to rank well on Google and differentiate itself from other event venues in the party, wedding and corporate markets they wanted to stand out from the crowd.

The old Princess Caroline site had served them well, but was begining to look tired and needed a design refresh. Also, we’d noticed that over 25% of their visitors were using mobile or non-desktop devices.

 

Responsive Design

Consequently we decided to make sure that the website redesign included responsive styling so that the content would work well whatever device was used to view it. Furthermore the owners took the initiative and added meter square QR codes to the side of the ship so that anyone passing could scan the codes from distance and get straight into a mobile friendly version of the site.

 

The Old Website

The old website worked extremely well and accounted for a significant amount of organic search traffic, but as a static html site it required effort to update and the owners couldn’t do this themselves. Also the design was difficult to view on devices with smaller screens.

The New Website

We designed the new website based on WordPress to offer a number of key features and attributes:

  • Responsive design for mobile and tablet devices
  • Simple and intuitive user interface
  • Interactive user elements
  • Content Management (CMS) so that the owners could update the site themselves
  • All old urls given 301 redirects to maintain SEO rankings
  • New attractive design

 

The results are a highly attractive new website design that is both visually appealing and extremely easy to navigate. It also works perfectly on any internet connected device, small or large.
