Using a content management system (CMS) is an invaluable option for businesses who need to manage their website on a regular basis. The content management system essentially allows you to add text, images, news, files for download, and other items to your website as frequently as you require.
Content management systems (also known by their acronym CMS) normally have highly user-friendly management systems and offer a flexibility that allow you or your staff, with little or even no training, to maintain your website with ease.
By creating a website using a CMS as the back end, you can structure complex arrays of pages and information, and even apply different styles to different sections. Also because you are able to create and edit your own content, you can of course make considerable savings versus relying on an agency to update the site for you.
Many people consider updated websites to rank bettter on search engines too. The more frequently you update your site, the more frequently it will be crawled by search engines. This means that your placement in the results will be fresher, and consequently have greater authority attributed to it.
We do not provide a proprietry CMS system like many agencys, as this means moving your website to another agency or hosting provider can be extremely difficult. Essentially you are tied-in to your supplier, and will most likely require a complete redesign if you choose to move on.
Instead we recommend open source applications that can be hosted and maintained by any competent web designer or agency.
We are proficient in the following CMS platforms, however if you have a strong preference we would happily utilise another technology:
We offer our content management website design package at a fixed price (based on your requirements) which includes all of the following:
After your website project is complete, we will host it for you for the first year which is built into the cost.
If you wish, you can at any time simply transfer your website to another hosting provider or design agency. You own all of the intellectual property rights including the images and design.
All website design projects differ so it’s hard to offer menu pricing, but as a rule of thumb, we charge £175 per page for a content management site with a minimum of 5 pages. There are of course economies of scale for larger sites.
Compared to a static html site, the upfront costs may be higher for a CMS, but the bottom line is that you’ll make significant savings over the life of the website by being able to update your own content.
In addition to the CMS website itself, we can offer a full range of complementary services inluding:
Whatever your CMS website design requirements, we offer a free, no obligation, initial design consultation which includes a review of your existing website if you have one. We will also provide a full proposal detailing the scope of the project and it’s intended measurable results. Finally we will give you a fixed price for any work agreed before we begin.
